After graduating from Texas A&M in 2007 with a bachelor in business marketing, where he played baseball on scholarship, Jason played professional baseball until he moved to San Diego, California. Here, for 6 years, he ran his own travel baseball program and hitting facility. His travel program (North County Longhorns) is now one of the biggest programs in San Diego county, helping many players reach the collegiate and professional levels. The last 2 years in San Diego, Jason fell in love with the craft beer industry while interning on a part basis at Mother Earth Brewery. He learned the ins and outs of running a brewery working on the brew crew, making sales calls, delivering kegs and bottles to clients, and all the admin duties that entails. He now puts that knowledge to good use, running the day-to-day business here at Saloon Door.

Whenever I am managing things behind the bar, I am either planning weekly/monthly events, running social media, working on advertising & marketing stuff, interior decorating & also when needed I try my best to keep everyone SANE lol. So, yeah you can basically call me Saloon Door’s “Jen of All Trades”
In addition to being the father of our CEO, Jeff is a jack of all trades at Saloon Door. After 24 years working production in a chemical plant – troubleshooting and maintaining industrial pumps, compressors and heating equipment – he now maintains our brewery production equipment to keep that golden nectar flowing out our taps to you. In addition, he assists Josh with brewing schedules and formulating recipes. You’ll probably run into him in our tasting room, where he runs day-to-day operations with his son, Jason. He’s also known to give a few weekend tours of our brewing area.
Jeff graduated in 1979 from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor of arts in teaching.
Josh graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering at Texas A&M University in December 2002 and has 12 years of experience as a chemical process engineer in ethylene technology. He started home brewing as a hobby in 2009 with a beginner kit that was purchased by his wife as a Christmas present. That hobby transformed into a lifestyle, where he put his experimental side to the test, crafting exciting home brew combinations for friends and family. When he decided to make the jump to full time brewer, Josh apprenticed with Mother Earth Brewing Co. to understand the ins and outs of running a commercial facility.
As head brew master, Josh is responsible for operating the commercial brew system, developing various recipes, writing procedures for brewery operation, managing an efficient brew schedule, maintaining equipment & cleanliness of the brew house and cellaring area, and ensuring the highest quality beer is provided to our customers. Raise a glass next time you see him!
